We at no point confirmed our booking with BLH so, less that 24 hours later, we contacted Groupon. Unfortunately for them we checked with the airline before to see what flights were available and there was only one flight leaving that date, and it was the flight they were pushing us to pay extra for.Īfter hours on the phone, not being listened to, having them cut in when I tried to explain, and having to hand the phone over to my partner who works in law (even he couldn’t get over how awful they were), we finally decided we didn’t trust them nor wanted to give them our money so requested to stop all proceedings so we could claim a full refund. ![]() The worst example of this was when the agent tried to make me pay extra for the flight we wanted, saying there were two flights leaving that date and we needed to pay extra for the better flight times. They were bullies, who try to bully you into paying over the odds for ‘extras’. So we contacted the travel agency, and to say they were rude would be an understatement. I will never again buy a voucher without being able to select the flight date, time and airport before purchasing. ![]() This should have been a huge warning! But we had done it previously so thought it would be ok. It only listed valid dates and stated you needed to contact the travel agents to book a date and flight. The first mistake we made was paying for a holiday which was ambiguous about flight dates and times. WRONG! Groupon take no responsibility for the actions of the travel agency or how they treat you as you’ll find out later. I bought a holiday voucher via Groupon to Iceland, thinking we were safe to do so as Groupon were a large reputable company. ![]() I don’t like to write bad reviews, but thought on this occasion it was important to do so as I do not want anyone else to go through the same ordeal I did.
